Head Pain After An Accident

Head Injuries

A head injury is any trauma that leads to injury of the scalp, skull, or brain. The injuries can range from a minor bump on the skull to serious brain injury. Auto accidents are jarring events that can cause victims to strike their head against several surfaces. These impacts can fracture the skull and/or jostle the brain.

People suffering from a head injury might experience some or all of these symptoms: passing out, a dazed feeling, loss of balance, headaches, listlessness and nausea.

There is no such thing as a minor head injury, as any injury to the head can affect the brain and its functions, and many can be fatal. In any serious head trauma, always assume the spinal cord is also injured.
